1. What do you like best about being a Tutor-Mentor?
My favourite part of being a Tutor-Mentor is having the chance to help improve a student’s understanding of the work as well as helping them build up their confidence.
2. What subjects do you enjoy teaching and why?
English is my strongest subject. I like finding hidden meanings in-between words and analysing language. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students how and what to look for in their texts, and how to write an essay using what they have discovered.
3. What is your favourite moment as a Tutor-Mentor?
My favourite moment as a tutor-mentor is when the student’s grades start reflecting the hard work that they are putting in during the session, and how excited they are once they realise how well they are doing; it encourages them to continue to work hard.
4. What advice would you give to new TutorBright Tutor-Mentors?
Some really great advice that I have for new TutorBright Tutor-Mentors is be patient. Find out what the students enjoy doing and help them understand through materials based on their interests.
5. What quote would you use to describe you life motto?
‘Happiness can be found, even in the darkest times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.’ J.K.Rowling’s quote in The Prisoner of Azkaban reminds me to always be positive even in tough times.
